Problems Developing Film from XA

Hi Everyone,

I recently purchased a used Olympus XA. The same day the camera came I bought a 4 Pack of FujiFilm FujiColor Super HQ ASA 200 Film. I took a lot of pictures and just got my film developed. I just got my film back and they were unable to develop it properly because there wasn't any pictures on the roll of film. I got the negatives back and looked closely at the pictures and can barely see some of the pictures I had taken on the film.

I set the ASA setting on the XA to one click below the ASA 200 setting. The mark was still at 200-but not exactly. I could move it either one down or one click up to be just ahead of the 200 ASA setting. I did the one click below the ASA 200 setting. Could that be my problem?

Also, I am looking the the roll of film and it says DX on it. I know the XA doesn't have the DX encoding feature on it. Could I have gotten the wrong film?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks very much,

Peter

Re: Problems Developing Film from XA

Hi Again,

I believe I may have found an answer to my original question! When I went to rewind the film-I opened the back (bad idea) and started to rewind the film with the back open. So what I think may have happened is the film being exposed to all the light ruined the pictures.

I still have to confirm this but I am pretty sure thats what happened. Now I know how to rewind the film properly.

I am very excited to see how the pictures are going to turn out now!

Thanks,

Peter
