I would just like to know about my heritage. My father's grandmother was 100% Cherokee, but not a roll number. Since I was a young girl, I have always felt strongly about American Indians. I always defended them in school. My first husband and I took over a Cherokee Missionary Church at Bunch, OK. We moved after that and went to Farmington, NM and pioneered a Navajoe Indian Mission Church at Bloomfield, NM. I was always drawn to the Indian People, not knowingly the blood ran so deeply through my veins. I would just like some questions answered.

Loved all the interesting facts and pictures. My great-grandmother is said to be Cherokee and I hope to be able to find some research to back that up. I have always loved and been fascinated with the Indian culture and hope to find more information. I am now planning a trip to Tahlequah after visiting this site.

I have always heard that my mother's grandmother was full blooded Cherokee. I recently found out that she had been on the "trail of tears" and escaped into the area around Ava, Missouri. My sister has researched this and found we have 1/16 Cherokee in us. I have always been intrigued with Indian culture and have Indian pottery that I got from a Native American in New Mexico.
