Super job. Love the meticulous manner in which you built the car. Love the level of documentation. I just took photos in 2000. Your web site is much appreciated. You will have no problems building the Unique car. Can't wait to see your finished product. One caution I suggest you consider, the nylon fasteners that hold your fans to the radiator, in time the vibration will cause these fasteners to wear a hole in your radiator. You may want to consider an alternate mounting for the fans.

Bill;

Thanks for such a well documented history of your GT 40 build. This is a real inspiration to get started on a similiar project. Hope to see you at one of the Cobra breakfasts in N. Cal!

I've been following your outstanding work on this car, not because I'm building a GT40 specifically, but just to get educated on first class build ideas in general. My project is considerably less fearsome, it's an BMC Mini being upgraded with a Honda VTEC motor swap.

All updates to the site seem to have stopped. I hope you're just on hold for a bit and haven't sold it or stopped work entirely. Can you let us know what the status is?

Thanks, John

Hi Bill,
I found your website "accidentally" when google'ing for TOMY GT40s slotcars (in H0 scale, which is approx. 1/64) , but got stuck here and read every single line of your build report. Being interested in COBRA and GT40 kit cars in general, I wondered if you and your bank manager are still friends... I also wondered, if you ever managed to get into the car - not because of it's size, but because it lokks to fast to enter - even with the engine turned off.

Regards form Germany and all the best for the new year 2009,
Heiner

Halo Bill,
Very facinating. i spend 4hours to read your website! Im a huge fan of the legendary GT40. Im considering to build one later. Unfortunately none of the parts i saw in your web site are available in my country. Look like i have to customize some of the parts my self. Do you have the blue print to build the ford GT40? Can you email it to me? Any way thanks. Congratulations bill what a great job

Great site and inspiring. I have a "finished" car(GT 40s are processes not events! ) after many ups and downs. I am envious of your AVONS -wide 15" tires are scarce. Please will you be so kind as to email me exact sizes? Looking forward to your next update.

HI Bill,
I've been on and off your website now for about a year, I don't have my 40 yet( been waiting 25 years). I have just got my garage extended and will be getting that ready.
Anyway, i would like to say what a great colour scheme, a very nice looking car.
You have helped keep my dream alive, and have provided all the inspiration I need.
You also seem to have set yourself very high standards of workmanship, something that I hope to emulate.
Hopefully you will see my website in the next couple of years,
I just wish more builders would try and post info on their builds.
Keep up the good work

John

Nice pix of your build. Do you have any recent updates on the car or video of it running? Someone mentioned that you were considering selling it before completion and I was surprised. The car looks almost complete although I know there's always issues to work out. Hang in there and great job! I've really enjoyed reading about your build.

Very interesting documentation! I spent hours reading your web site

Only thing left now is some videos of driving the car. The GT40 is so on top of my list of most wanted cars.
